as much as i love tuna tartare

I hear tuna's really not the best for a body. you know, biomagnification of trace minerals and toxic sea junk...so i try and eat more salmon, but then farmed salmon may not have the sweet sweet Omega-3s, and may be full of dye (farmed salmon lose their color as well as their joie de vivre, see)...so wild is best, but What About The Fisheries!?!? (dramatic film noir music swells)

what to say?

must keep blogging. 3 days away makes a blogger complacent....except in the face of competition. it's a blog off! when is the end? hmm. I think until one of us fags out, we will keep each other bloggingalot. one hopes.

so it was a holiday weekend and i went away, into the sun, to wear tiny shorts, long socks at night, sundresses and jackie o's. great. continuing, even as I say I'm not, to pursue this partner thing. rewarded this weekend by much affection, good giggles, and a boy who showed up to the hippie party in a fox fur coat and "prada" shades (bought at the market in Casablanca for $3). spectacular.

good drugs, good food, good times. got home & took a nap. and then i balanced my checkbook. isn't life glamorous?

also flaked on a friend who lives too far away...am handling the guilt so far.

That's right, I picked up a boy who's barely legal to drink. Maybe that's why he balked when I bought those 2 bottles of wine for "dinner at home"? Nope, I don't think that's it. Anyway, we're flirting on Facebook now. Social networking is super gay, so it's ok (see next post).

omg i'm a huge homo. i invited this very nice boy over last night, this charming midwestern [south asian] fellow with great manners and a sweet smile and a job in social justice, and when he kissed me i realized he'd been acting weird cause he was nervous. cause he wanted to get with me (and my sister- oh no. sorry). i hadn't felt the nerves because i was calculating. doing the math for the lifetime of our relationship. and then when he kissed me i realized that I'm playing "disposable man" because they don't matter to me that much. not in that way.

ouch! anyway, i got the poor fool to the train in time and he got home and well. anybody got any hot GIRL friends for me to make out with? i'm much nicer to girls. women. i promise.

for a fun SF vacation!. and crap, man, i left my planner in your trunk! i'm thinking about making a trip this week just to collect my variously scattered earrings, bras, and go-go-boots from my friends' SF apartments. I guess I can always borrow a bracelet if i find myself stranded and un-accessorized.

here's how hot Maggie is- even in hot orange "spanky pants." No pictures of equally hot Tom- oops. I wish I had pictures of the neecenmacher affair...but I don't. ack! I love those guys too! ah, the single girl and the comfy (almost) marrieds. I can take it.

keepin it fresh: whale watching

Here are two tasty news bites for you. I think they're interesting because they are vaguely related and both interrupted the haze that usually covers me when I read news stories. Blah blah musharref attorneys peshawar huh? Even Britney doesn't break through anymore.

But these two did: One relates to why we're so cold, us people, and what warms us, or opens us, at least as the wallet goes. I did some morality test online once (here's an example) that told me I had a primitive morality: I am interested in helping people who are close to me, or who I know, to the neglect of faraway problems. (all politics is local? Anyone?) But I'm not alone!

So the headline of that article is "People Only Want To Help One Person." What's interesting to me is how concerned I've become about two whales.

Local & large scale (but small quality) means my neanderthal heart & mind get it. Are you following these guys too?

i think my camera's busted

it's quite a stumbling block. i want to take so many pictures!

1) lola graduated!

3) i was in a fun show!
4) my hair looked really cool!

but no. i am scared to turn it on- i haven't downloaded pix for wayyy too long (before Sylvia's wedding, for sure!) and I'm terrified they're lost. Thanks for listening.

I sent her these lovely lavender roses. My company certified that they were grown "sustainably," but they definitely came in on a plane from Ecuador. doesn't sustainablility relate to carbon neutrality? Ah well, at least the workers had health care.

Aint they (the flowers) perty? I think so. I almost got the chartreuse ones, but those are for me. These are for moms.

i think you're super rad. while i work out what i actually want and what i can actually handle, let's not f up our friendship getting dramatic.

i hope that came through when i said "let's be cool" and "i think you're way cool" and agreed that I am also "of two minds." i think it did...

cause we laughed, and he doesn't seem so fragile as t made it sound. i mean, he did call to say "if you want to forget it, it's cool, but let's not be weird." which of course is a setup, but even so.
