tee hee

somebody made a logo for my grocery shopping ambivalence! click on the pic and you'll (i hope) hear something that's sure to be fascinating, if you eat and think about it. maybe if you think while you're eating? or before you eat?

one bad apple

is it true that one bad apple will spoil the whole bunch? i just learned about ethylene and how it ruins flowers- could the rotten spot in the middle of the mediocre apple I'm eating right now have already contaminated the apples at home, waiting for their moment but no longer appetizing??

last week's picture

this picture's almost exactly a week old. i'm wearing the same skirt, but today i'm wearing it with tights & boots. I'm glad I grabbed the sunshine when I could.

working late

there's a storm front coming! I turned my head from my desk and took this picture of the oncoming storm. H.a.w.t. If you squint, you can see the GG Bridge out there where the sun's peeking through.

turn around and see me cry

banging piano

sun is the sky oh why oh why would i want to be anywhere else?

i lost my little darling, the night they were playing, that beautiful tennesseeeeee waltz.

post 100: dance 10

wow. 100 random thoughts form my head, broadcast to the world.

well, here's an encrypted one: choreography.

Erin's phrase-

walks in, origami folds her heart,
utkatasana on the DL diagonal, arms 1st
peek under arms (planar tilt) R,
giant swing (Martha!) w/ L side.
graham roll to SR, hermesdorf up.
attitude enveloppe turn, tilt to the left.

arms like twiddling thumbs as left leg parallel passes in,
extend to twisted arabesque,
toss R arm over, look L as leaping onto R foot.

fold hands, demurely, fold L leg in, frappe slowly to developpe L.
Fling it, run around to beginning

peek under R, lunge L back (opposite arm opens).
fold to floor, cross legs, step hermesdorf to roll right back up to face DR, utkatasna arms first.

martha (upstage side or L again?) twist leg to passe to 5th facing front. high curve, contraction, giddy jump.

a week can be soooo loooong

sometimes, just a day can be soooo looong.

today, forinstance, wow.

i have a date tomorrow, with an energetic fellow, and found out (happily) that another boy i like but not like that, has a totally hot thing going on in another town! which is so great because you know when you hav a new friend, and there's a little bit of tension, but mostly there's not, it's weird to get to the friends part, because you're both hot or out there, or something, and it's the stage where you have to be otherwise engaged to not "go there"? that is weird. i wish someone would aritculate it somehow so that I could link there...anyway, this guy has some hot affair in seattle, and that is so rad.

also what's rad is the giant crush i have on a guy at work (which will NOT be pursued, at least not for a year or so), and the fun date i'm going on tomorrow. and the fact that my sometime-best friend boy's girlfriend is so rad that even when he responded to a silly situation with Giant Drama, she said "let's get whiskey, I am not tripping about you." which is great.

and also what is great is my new job and my pearl snap cowboy shirt and the concert I'm going to tonight and Lily Allen. All of those things R00l.

and the lil baby sprouts I saw in my seed box this morning! OMG when the rain stops my garden is gonna be PIMPIN.

love

false starts- and a real one

it's felt like i'm trying new things, trying and they're just not working, trying so many different, disparate things, and feeling lost and wrong and am i a lost soul?

and then i came back, and i moved into this house. and i didn't mean to, but i started dancing again. and i got an office job that's so office it's like TV. quarterly this timesheets clients and the competition. but i WANT it, and I'm sticking to it. just like i WANT to be figuring this shit out, and having these beautiful people do this weird dumb shit for me, and I want to live in the burbs.

and the story goes like this:

different things. they don't make sense, really. malinda is a god figure and erin is me.

i'm going to quote people in this section: emma, sean, myself, maybe ann.

then when erin gets up off the floor like kathleen, all rocking and kung fu, is & steven are going to emerge. she's going to run right smack into them, and they're going to swirl. perhaps they'll pose. they'll do different things, and roll their heads, and erin will realize that her moves make sense. and she and malinda will set the table, one last time, and they'll perhaps do it cooperatively, and she'll light the candle and the lights will go out.

and the audience will barf - but for tonight i DO like a happy ending.

because:
i didn't know WTF i was doing, but i did know who i wanted to do it with.
and then i did know what i wanted to do- only it was slightly different from what i was actually doing, so i had to get out. it was close. it was not it
so i went back where i had come form, and accidentally i started doing the old things
and at the same time, i persevered, and i did the right things
and i got a life coach- or maybe i just learned to take it slow
and it was the people that made the difference.

literally:
putting her hair on is looking for work?

setting the table is making the home

bookie desk is

being a tree is

swirling around is...

where & when we do art

and the orchestra, well, the orchestra is the whole thing.

i can't wait to play cut ups. thank heavens for my cameo actors! (and of course, props to jasper johns. et al. )

make new friends

but keep the old...

i blew off 2 "old friend" parties tonight. and then, surprise, i went with an old friend and made lots of new ones in my new neighborhood.

it's time for me to do that.

the old ones who are already around are keepers. the ones who are so much work i haven't seen them in months, well, i'm not going to worry about them. we'll find each other again in time. or maybe not.
