LEGGINGS!! (updated)

I LOVE LEGGINGS

i used to hate them. that's how it goes with fashion, isn't it.

i bought nice fabric from Stonemountain, and made the dopest comfiest somewhat lumpy but who cares because THEY'RE SNAKESKIN. inspired by Sallie's leathers and Oona's wild ones, i deployed the same strange pattern for these (ok still unfinished) beauties.
the ease in this pattern is BANANAS. these puppies have 2" seam allowances on the outer leg, and then i took them in another 1/2" on the inside. next time i will save the fabric. that's right, NEXT TIME. LEGGINGS FOREVER!!!
hello, daughter of my kind photographer.
Here they are after lowering the front waist another inch or two...it's still not super comfortable, so I'm considering swapping out the wide wide waistband Meg McElwee uses in her craftsy class
this too loose waistband is strangely uncomfortable. will mysteries never cease!
are they better? they are...but guess what. i think the black is t shirt fabric. KNITS ARE HARD TO BUY!
(my pose, but not my child.)
If you have a kit of knit samples that can tell me what's what, will you please share? I touched this stuff like crazy in the store and was sure it was good and strong for leggings, but i think it's just a little light and loose for good recovery. SIGHHHHHHH.

anyway, live and learn. snake on.
