yesterday we (me & miro) finished pulling out the madness of bolted bok choy & mustards in the front. aaah. we harvested radishes & snap peas from the back bed, added some stones (thanks, Duncan) to the walkway, and while she thinned the radish/turnip albatross, i shoveled compost. We have harvested the first of our home grown! It's in the front now, where we planted some yummy white fleshed heirloom melon (neighbor side, for maximum growth) and ferry morse cucumbers (walkway side, for maximum harvesting).
I hear that's how you're s'posed to plant melons. in a pile of compost. how convenient we had one just right there! it's way more fun to garden with a friend, though it is really soothing when i'm mad at the world or otherwise out of sorts.
then i harvested dino kale, collards (from the trees! i love them. they had a lot of aphid pockets though. ew.), a mess of nasturtiums and a bunch of green onions. yummmmmm. guess what's for lunch today?
